LEIA

If I’d thought sleeping in a war belt while being sandwiched between two enormous men was uncomfortable, it was nothing compared to waking up to six more piled on the bed.

Whoever designed this island really should have included some California Kings.

No—Alaskan Kings.

Every night was a bit of a logistical nightmare with this crew, but they’d never attempted to all sleep next to me at once before.

Even Philippos is here!

“Um, guys?” I groaned, feeling overheated and finding it hard to breathe. “Can y’all give a girl some room? I am into asphyxiation, but only within reason.”

Timyn’s face suddenly appeared directly above mine, unblinking reptilian irises in full effect and skin almost completely covered in scales.

That’s… new.

“Me too, Water Lily!” he exclaimed, flashing teeth that looked even sharper than usual, were that possible. “Although I enjoy being choked until I actually do pass out.”

TMI, but tell me more.

A thick tentacle possessively caressed the Hydra’s neck before Vann’s scarousing half-shifted face appeared. “It’s the zoster, Aelfmaer. We can’t seem to resist it.”

It’s like vabbing, in accessory form.

“Okay, good to know.” I attempted to wiggle out of the muscular pile, even though it was futile. “If you maniacs would let me get up, I’ll gladly throw the belt in a corner so everyone can hump it like it’s the last cupcake on the platter.”

I froze as a scent I’d missed more than life itself suddenly wafted through the room.

MAGNOLIA RED VELVET!

“Did someone fucking make CUPCAKES?!” I shouted, somehow conjuring the inhuman strength needed to wrestle myself free.

My Hydra squinted at me from where he’d been shoved aside. “No, but your almost-sister—who is apparently your actual sister—made a version of teganitai she called pancakes. They were delicious.”

That Iola had vented our recent drama to the guys and stress-cooked her signature breakfast-for-dinner meal was worth noting, but my brain was too clouded with buttercream dreams to focus. “Well then, where is that mouth-watering smell coming from?”

I caught movement out of the corner of my eye and turned to find Philippos trying to sneak out of the room.

What’s his problem?

Krysos snickered. “Ohhh, you’re smelling our Mare of Diomedes. He has a nasty habit of emitting the favorite scents of whoever he’s trying to attract.”

“I’m not trying to attract anyone,” Philippos snapped, glaring at the golden-antlered tattle-tale before his cautious gaze drifted to me.

The hind’s lip curled—emitting his signature scent of pure brat energy. “Parts of him taste like it too.”

Philippos’ scent was so thick I could practically taste the baked perfection. My pounding heartbeat drowned out Ambrose’s jealous growl at Krysos’ comment, my stomach growling almost as loudly, and the pathetic whimper that escaped my lips.

I neeeeeed it.

“You can try to run, horse,” Julius chuckled, leaning against the headboard with his hands clasped behind his head and a smug smile on his face, “but you can’t hide from your mate forever.”

Philippos shot one more wary look in my direction.

Then he ran.

“Get him,” Zephyr barked, commanding me like I was a K-9 police dog trained to attack a felon leaving the scene of a crime.
